Dear Sir/Madam:
We understand that your company is using State Farm trademarks “State Farm” and “State Farm Insurance” in your website “http://www.park-insurance.com/state-farm-insurance.htm” and the metatags. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company is the owner of the trademarks/service marks “State Farm” and “State Farm Insurance” and has registered these marks in the United States Patent and Trademark Office under Registration Nos. 1,979,585 and 1,125,010. These registrations were issued June 11, 1996, and September 11, 1979. State Farm has been using these names and has numerous trademark registrations that include “State Farm” dating back to 1956.
As a corporate policy, we do not authorize outside entities to use our name, our trademarks or other identification of our companies to advertise or endorse particular products or services. This policy is not intended as a criticism of the fine vendors and consultants with whom we do business. It is simply intended as a consistent means of protecting our registered marks. Thus, this letter is not singling your out, but rather simply conveys our standard policy for those using our marks with out permissions.
We have been unable to locate any authorized State Farm representative who may have provided your company with permission to use these trademarks in your advertising or sales promotional materials. If you have such authority, please send me documentation of it at your earliest convenience. Otherwise, please immediately remove “State Farm” and “State Farm Insurance” from your website, metatags, and other sales promotional materials.
Please provide us within 20 days your written acknowledgment that you will not use our marks in metatags, future advertising or sales promotional ventures. If you have questions, you may call me at 309-766-2912. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
